There’s something magical about Nashville. The blend of rich musical history, elevated Southern hospitality, and a buzzing downtown scene creates an energy that’s hard to match. Whether you’re planning a girls’ weekend, a romantic escape, or a solo adventure with style, where you stay matters—and in Nashville, luxury isn’t hard to find.

Here are my favorite downtown luxury hotels in Nashville, divided by neighborhood. Each one has been carefully selected based on experience, service, design, location, and vibe.
SOBRO: South of Broadway
If you want to stay in the heart of the action while enjoying an upscale experience, SoBro is where it’s at. Located just south of Broadway, this neighborhood is central to everything: restaurants, nightlife, museums, and live music venues. It’s also home to the Country Music Hall of Fame and the Music City Center. You’re just a short walk from the most iconic parts of downtown.
JW Marriott Nashville
The JW Marriott Nashville is one of the most elegant hotels downtown, with clean lines, floor-to-ceiling windows, and an atmosphere that feels sleek and sophisticated without being stuffy. It’s located just a half-mile from Broadway and The Gulch, making it easy to walk almost anywhere.
One of the standout features is the rooftop pool deck, complete with the Cabana Club Bar & Grill—a gorgeous place to spend an afternoon sipping cocktails under the sun. Even better? My favorite restaurant in the city, Bourbon Steak by Michael Mina, is located on the top floor. This steakhouse combines perfectly cooked filet with panoramic skyline views, making it a must whether you’re staying at the hotel or not.
Pro tip for Marriott elites: The Executive Lounge is available Monday–Friday and is a quiet, elevated space for Platinum and Titanium members. It’s perfect for light bites, a glass of wine, or just a moment of serenity.
The Joseph – A Luxury Collection Hotel
The Joseph is a stylish, arts-forward hotel that feels thoughtfully curated. From the moment you step inside, you’re surrounded by beautiful details: curated local artwork, custom furniture, and a scent that instantly relaxes you.
It’s within walking distance of The Ryman Auditorium, Bridgestone Arena, and the neon-drenched energy of Broadway. Whether you’re in town for a concert, a Predators game, or just to soak up the energy, the location can’t be beat.
Don’t miss: The rooftop pool and restaurant are beautiful, but the real hidden gem is the intimate speakeasy, Four Walls. Tucked behind velvet curtains, it’s an exclusive spot for craft cocktails and late-night conversations.

1 Hotel Nashville
Located across from the Music City Center, 1 Hotel Nashville is ideal if you want your stay to reflect your environmental values. Every detail here has been designed with sustainability in mind—from reclaimed wood furnishings to living plant walls and organic linens.
Though it’s not my personal favorite, I truly appreciate their mission to safeguard the Earth. This is a fantastic choice for travelers who want to stay somewhere pet-friendly, wellness-focused, and inspired by nature.

Four Seasons Hotel Nashville
★ My Favorite Downtown Stay
If you want five-star everything with a front-row seat to the Cumberland River, the Four Seasons Nashville is my number-one pick. Located just one block from Broadway, it offers the perfect blend of calm and convenience. You can walk to all the iconic honky tonks, then return to your plush retreat for a peaceful night’s sleep.
Tip: Request a room overlooking the river for morning coffee views that feel like pure Nashville magic.
On the rooftop, you’ll find a chic pool and bar—ideal for relaxing after a day of exploring. The spa and dining options are world-class, and the overall experience feels personalized from the moment you arrive. It’s luxurious in every sense, yet never overbearing.

The Gulch: Trendy & Upscale
Just a short Uber or Lyft ride from downtown, The Gulch is one of Nashville’s trendiest neighborhoods. It’s more peaceful than Broadway, yet full of energy in its own way—lined with boutique shopping, chef-driven restaurants, and high-end hotels. If you’re looking for a quieter, more stylish place to stay, this is a top option.
Thompson Nashville
★ My Favorite in The Gulch
The Thompson Hotel feels like the cool cousin of downtown luxury. It’s stylish but not flashy, sophisticated but not cold. I love how walkable it is—you’re steps from Music Row, the Frist Art Museum, and some of the best brunch and cocktail spots in the city.
The rooftop bar and restaurant serve delicious small plates and cocktails, with views of the Nashville skyline. Whether you’re starting your evening or ending it here, the vibe is always on point.
Bonus: If you love boutique shopping and modern Southern cuisine, The Gulch is where you’ll want to spend most of your time.

W Hotel Nashville
Another standout in The Gulch is the W Hotel, part of the Marriott family but with its own unapologetically bold personality. If you want a stay that feels modern, edgy, and full of flair, this is your spot.
Room tip: Book one of the rooms with a balcony overlooking the Nashville skyline—it’s especially gorgeous at night when the city lights come alive.
This hotel also features a rooftop pool and a trendy on-site restaurant, making it easy to soak in Nashville without ever needing to leave the building.

Two More Hotels Worth Mentioning
Moxy Nashville Downtown
If you want to be right in the middle of it all, look no further than the Moxy. It’s literally the only hotel on Broadway, placing you steps away from live music, neon lights, and some of the most iconic bars in Nashville.
Ideal for young adults in their 20s and 30s, the hotel has a fun, edgy vibe—think vibrant decor, communal spaces, and a strong Nashville aesthetic.
There’s no pool here, but the rooftop bar and grill keep the energy high and the drinks flowing. It’s fun, it’s lively, and it’s perfect for travelers who came to party.
Gaylord Opryland Resort
If you’re traveling with kids or want a more resort-style experience, the Gaylord Opryland is a must. Located about 15 minutes from downtown, this massive property feels like a theme park and hotel all in one.
It features indoor and outdoor waterparks, multiple restaurants, and lush indoor atriums complete with waterfalls and boat rides. It’s also the home of the Grand Ole Opry, making it a fun and unique way to experience Nashville from a family perspective.
Whether it’s a summer trip or a winter escape (they do Christmas lights BIG), this resort has something for every age.
