Our arrival into Mahón, Menorca felt like a dream. We docked at 8 a.m. on a sunny Saturday, and unlike our usual busy exploration days, we decided this would be a day of pure relaxation. Sometimes, the most luxurious thing you can do while traveling is slow down and this charming Balearic island was the perfect setting to do just that.
A Day of Poolside Bliss
After breakfast, we spent the morning relaxing by the pool, soaking up the Mediterranean sun and the peaceful rhythm of yacht life. Lunch onboard was leisurely, paired with the soft breeze coming off the port. Mahón’s harbor views stretched endlessly before us; calm, scenic, and so easy to love.

Sunset Drinks at Cova d’en Xoroi
That evening, we had a dinner reservation at Cova d’en Xoroi, one of Menorca’s most famous cliffside bars. It’s truly a must-do for anyone visiting the island. Carved directly into the cliffs, the bar overlooks the sea, offering one of the most breathtaking sunset views I’ve ever seen.
Tip: Make a reservation! When we arrived, the line was long, and I was thankful we had planned ahead. It took about 30 minutes by car from the port, but every minute was worth it. While Cova d’en Xoroi doesn’t serve food, the cocktails and views make it unforgettable, one of those experiences that captures the spirit of Mediterranean evenings.

After leaving Cova d’en Xoroi, we decided to make the most of our evening and explore downtown Mahón. The streets were filled with charm, with narrow cobblestone lanes lined with boutiques, cafés, and locals enjoying the warm night air. We wandered without a plan, stopping to admire the old architecture and take in the relaxed island atmosphere. It was the perfect way to end the night, combining the energy of the town with the peacefulness of the harbor before heading back to the yacht.

A Leisurely Sunday
The next morning was another day of indulgence and calm. We woke up to the sound of gentle waves and enjoyed a full day on the yacht, our own floating retreat. The day was filled with onboard activities: flower arranging, sip-and-draw, and bracelet-making classes, followed by spa treatments that left us feeling completely refreshed.

A Place to Return To
We left the port at 2:00pm on Sunday, I couldn’t help but think about everything we missed by choosing to stay onboard that first day. As we left the beautiful island, I said to my husband, “Look what we missed by staying on the boat.”

Mahon is one of those places that leaves you wanting more. Its peaceful harbor, understated beauty, and relaxed charm captured my heart. It’s a destination I know we’ll return to, next time, ready to explore beyond the port.
