There’s something exciting about booking a one-night escape in your own city, especially when that escape is at Nobu Hotel Atlanta. Since its opening in late 2022, Nobu has brought a new level of modern luxury to Buckhead. The location is exceptional, just steps from Phipps Plaza and Lenox Square, offering instant access to upscale shopping and dining.
This wasn’t just a night away, it was a curated date night, and from the moment we pulled in, I was eager to see if Nobu could deliver.
Arrival Experience
When we arrived at the entrance, I expected to be greeted with a high-touch welcome. Unfortunately, it fell a bit short. The valet walked around the car to greet my husband first, not offering to open my door. At a five-star property, this kind of attention to detail matters. It’s those first few seconds that set the tone.
Inside, the mood shifted. The design of the lobby immediately made an impression. With warm wood tones, minimalistic Japanese-inspired décor, and soft lighting, the entire space felt tranquil and elevated. To the right, the check-in area was busy with midday arrivals. Despite the crowd, I was welcomed with a black tea and a lemongrass and ginger-infused towel. It was a beautiful touch that aligned with the brand, even if the towel needed reheating.

The Porsche Suite: Thoughtful, Refined, and Worth the Upgrade
If you know me, you know the room makes or breaks the stay. And Nobu truly delivered by upgrading us to the Porsche Suite. From the moment we walked in, the space felt special.
The suite featured:
- A Porsche CT3 Touring speaker with rich sound
- A Dyson hair dryer and flat iron
- Natura Bissé bath products
- Nespresso coffee and tea station
- A beautifully stocked private bar
Floor-to-ceiling windows brought in natural light and showcased both the skyline and the lush trees of Buckhead. From the living room, the city glowed. From the bedroom, there was a quiet, green view that felt miles away from the buzz of Lenox Road.

The Porsche Suite is the kind of room you want to stay in longer. I would absolutely splurge on this room again. It feels like your own private residence in the city.
The Location is Everything
What makes Nobu one of the best luxury hotels in Buckhead Atlanta is its unbeatable location. You can walk to both Phipps Plaza and Lenox Mall in minutes. Shopping, dining, entertainment — it’s all right there.
After check-out, we wandered over to Phipps for a little retail therapy before heading home. No need to drive anywhere or deal with traffic. For guests coming in from out of town or locals doing a staycation like we did, the convenience adds incredible value.
The hotel also offers a Porsche house car, which will drive you anywhere within a 3-mile radius. It’s a sleek, stress-free way to explore nearby restaurants, nightlife, or events without ever worrying about parking.
Rooftop Pool: Chic, Peaceful, and Almost Perfect
The rooftop pool at Nobu isn’t your typical scene. It’s calm, intimate, and surrounded by skyline views. The design encourages you to slow down and enjoy the setting. The loungers were well-placed, perfect for relaxing or getting a little work done with a view.
One area that could be improved? Service at the pool. On weekends, the pool bar is open, but we were there on a Monday, and there were no attendants available. For a hotel of this caliber, I would love to see poolside service offered every day. Guests should be able to order drinks or food and have them brought to their loungers without having to get up.
Still, the pool deck at night was breathtaking. The lighting, the quiet, the city views — it felt incredibly romantic.

Dining at Nobu: A Seamless Experience
After time at the pool, we freshened up and headed downstairs for dinner at Nobu Atlanta, the onsite restaurant. This is the kind of convenience I love in a luxury hotel — no Uber, no planning, just walk down, sit back, and enjoy.
If you’re planning a date night, request a booth when making your reservation. It gives the experience a more intimate and cozy feel. While it’s smart to book a couple of weeks in advance, we found the restaurant fairly quiet that night. Still, it’s better to plan ahead if you’re celebrating something special.
The food was exceptional, as expected. Every dish was fresh, artfully presented, and packed with flavor. From sushi to signature entrees, it was everything I hoped for in a Nobu experience.

Other Features and Amenities
The fitness center was a pleasant surprise. It was spacious, clean, and well-equipped — not an afterthought like in some boutique hotels. Whether you want a quick treadmill run or a full morning workout, it has what you need.
That said, the grounds could use more attention. A bit of landscaping, some detail polishing — small things that make a big impact when you’re marketing to a luxury clientele.
Where Service Fell Short
Here’s where Nobu Atlanta didn’t meet expectations. The service in-room was inconsistent. We called twice — once to request a blanket, once for help with the iPad that controls the TV. No one ever showed up. The next morning, we ordered breakfast, and it took over an hour to arrive.
In luxury hotels, accessibility and responsiveness are part of the experience.
These details didn’t ruin the stay, but they did stand out.
Would I Recommend Nobu Atlanta?
Absolutely. While there were a few moments where service missed the mark, the Porsche Suite, the design, and the overall energy of the hotel were enough to make me want to return.
This hotel is ideal for:
- Girls’ trips
- Luxury staycations
- Romantic date nights
- Upscale business travel
Rooms start around $350 per night, which feels like a steal for what you receive — especially when compared to other high-end hotels in Atlanta that don’t offer this level of detail or ambiance.
Luxury. Service. Passion. Ratings
- Luxury: 10/10
The Porsche Suite, the design, and the rooftop pool all hit the mark. - Service: 6/10
There’s room to grow. With better in-room service and faster response times, Nobu could elevate the guest experience significantly. - Passion: 8/10

If Nobu Atlanta can refine its service to match the level of its design and experience, it could easily become the best luxury hotel in Buckhead Atlanta. I love this hotel, and I will be back. Whether for another date night or a weekend escape, Nobu is one of those rare places that makes you feel elevated just by being there.
