For years I had heard fellow Ritz-Carlton loyalists talk about The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman with a level of enthusiasm that immediately caught my attention. Seasoned travelers who know the brand well would often mention it as one of their favorite properties in the entire portfolio. When you hear the same praise repeated by people who have stayed at Ritz-Carltons all over the world, your expectations naturally rise.
After spending several days at the resort, I quickly understood why it has built such a loyal following. The setting on Seven Mile Beach is beautiful, but what truly defines the experience here is the balance between relaxed Caribbean energy and the polished service that the Ritz-Carlton brand is known for.
Arrival at Owen Roberts International Airport
After landing at Owen Roberts International Airport, the resort is just a short 10-15 minute drive away. After a full travel day, there’s something especially luxurious about knowing you’ll be settling into the resort within minutes rather than facing a long transfer.
For this trip we arranged a VIP airport meet and greet service, which turned out to be a great decision. With six of us arriving together and lines quickly forming inside the terminal, the extra assistance made the process far more comfortable. As soon as we entered the airport, a representative was already waiting with our name on a sign. From that point forward she guided us through the entire arrival process, escorting us through passport control, security, and customs while assisting with our luggage.
From the moment we arrived, the Ritz-Carlton team had everything handled, arranging our private airport transfer and our journey to the resort was seamless!
First Impressions of the Resort
The arrival experience continues to impress once you reach the property. Walking into the lobby feels both grand and welcoming at the same time. The design is elegant but not overwhelming, and despite the resort being fairly busy during our stay, the check in process felt calm and organized.

Since we were staying on Club Level, we were escorted directly to the Club Lounge after check in. Club access has always been one of my favorite aspects of staying at Ritz-Carlton properties. Once you experience it, it becomes difficult to travel without it.
When we entered the lounge, the team greeted us with genuine warmth and enthusiasm. Being welcomed by name always makes a stay feel more personal, and that sense of hospitality carried throughout the entire trip.
The Club Lounge itself does not have ocean views, and the décor is not the most updated I have seen within the brand. However, what it lacks visually it more than makes up for in service. The team remembered our preferences, checked on us regularly, and created an environment that felt relaxed rather than formal. The food presentations were beautiful, the drinks were excellent, and the atmosphere made it easy to linger longer than planned.

Crossing to the Oceanfront Rooms
One of the unique aspects of The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman is the layout of the property. The main entrance, lobby, spa, gym, tennis courts, and several restaurants are located across the street from the beachfront tower where the oceanfront rooms are located.
To reach the beach side of the resort, guests walk through a corridor lined with luxury boutiques and curated artwork. The transition actually feels quite natural. As you move through the space, the environment gradually shifts from elegant resort interior to the open brightness of the Caribbean coastline.
The moment you enter the oceanfront tower, the views immediately take center stage. Large windows and private balconies frame the turquoise water of Seven Mile Beach beautifully. It is the kind of view that makes you stop for a moment and simply appreciate where you are.
Oceanfront Rooms and the Resort Layout
The room design leans toward modern coastal elegance with subtle British Caribbean influences. Soft neutral tones, quality materials, and plush bedding create a space that feels both comfortable and refined. The bathrooms are spacious and well designed, with high quality amenities and the thoughtful details you expect from a Ritz-Carlton property.
Before our arrival I had shared that the trip was to celebrate my husband’s birthday, and the team went out of their way to acknowledge the occasion. From celebratory touches waiting in the room to thoughtful gestures throughout our stay, their attention to detail made the experience feel even more special.
They also gave us a small glimpse into what the famous Cayman Cookout experience is like. This annual culinary festival takes place at the resort each January and is considered one of the most prestigious food events in the Caribbean. After hearing more about it and sampling elements inspired by the event, it is absolutely something I would love to return for in the future.

Dining at the Resort
The resort offers several dining options, including Blue by Eric Ripert, which is widely considered one of the most prestigious restaurants on the island. The property is also home to Silver Palm, an intimate rum bar known for its impressive selection of rare Caribbean rums and classic cocktails.
During this particular trip we chose not to have dinner on property because we enjoyed breakfast and lunch each day in the Club Lounge. In the evenings we loved exploring the local restaurants around Grand Cayman. Whenever I travel to a destination like this, I always encourage stepping beyond the resort to experience the island’s culinary scene.
For guests planning to dine at Blue, I strongly recommend making reservations well in advance and requesting a table near the windows. It is known for being a true dining experience rather than just a meal.

Pools, Beach, and Activities
The resort offers multiple pool areas and activities across both sides of the property, making it well suited for a wide range of travelers.
On the side of the property near the main lobby, there is a beautiful central pool along with a children’s splash area that includes slides and play features. This area also connects to the resort’s tennis courts, pickleball courts, basketball court, full fitness center, and spa. Families have plenty of space to enjoy these amenities without the area ever feeling overly crowded.

The beach side of the resort feels slightly more relaxed and tropical. Lush landscaping surrounds the pool area, creating an atmosphere that feels like a private garden opening out onto the ocean. Guests relax in comfortable loungers or reserve cabanas while attentive staff circulate regularly offering drinks and food service.
The beach itself sits along Seven Mile Beach, which is widely considered the best stretch of coastline in Grand Cayman. The sand is soft and white, and the water is the clear turquoise color the Caribbean is famous for.
There are plenty of loungers available, and service extends seamlessly from the pool area down to the beach. Guests can kayak, paddleboard, or snorkel directly from the shoreline, and the resort includes snorkel equipment and non motorized watercraft with the resort fee, which adds noticeable value to the experience.
One of the most memorable moments each day is sunset. Watching the sky shift from soft pinks to deep gold as the sun sinks into the Caribbean Sea is something that stays with you long after the trip ends.
A small detail I especially loved was the lush pathway connecting the pool area to the beach. Walking through the greenery before stepping onto the sand feels almost like entering a hidden garden.

The Golf Experience
The resort also features a beautiful golf course on property. The men in our group spent an afternoon playing and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The course was well maintained and scenic, adding another dimension to the resort’s activities.
Their only comment was that beverage cart service could have been slightly faster, but overall the experience was still very positive.
The Spa
The spa at the resort is peaceful and beautifully designed. From the moment you enter, the atmosphere encourages you to slow down and relax. Soft lighting, calming scents, and quiet spaces create an environment that feels completely removed from the energy of the beach and pool areas.
Booking a treatment here is a wonderful way to balance the more active parts of the trip with some true relaxation.
The Shops
One of my favorite small rituals when traveling is exploring the boutique shops within a resort, and the shops here are particularly enjoyable. They carry a mix of high end resort wear, thoughtful gifts, and pieces that feel connected to the island.
What made the experience even more memorable was the people working in the shops. Their enthusiasm and friendliness turned a simple shopping stop into a genuinely fun interaction.
The People Who Made the Stay
While the resort itself is beautiful, the true highlight of the experience was the people.
Burcin was exceptional from the moment we began planning the trip through our departure. She helped coordinate details ahead of our arrival and made sure everything ran smoothly throughout our stay.
Marchreen in one of the boutiques brought such energy and joy to every interaction that it became one of the most fun parts of stopping into the shops.
The Club Manager and the entire Club Lounge team also deserve recognition. Their consistency, kindness, and attention to detail elevated every day of the stay.

My Tips for Staying Here
- Book a Club Level oceanfront room if possible. The experience is absolutely worth it. Request a higher floor with a centered ocean facing view.
- Arrange any special touches before arrival such as champagne in the room or birthday celebrations.
- Email the Club Lounge team with your preferences before you arrive. They genuinely appreciate the information and will tailor the experience accordingly.
- During busy seasons, reserve front row beach loungers early in the morning.
- Ask the staff about arranging a sunset cocktail setup on the beach.
- Make dining reservations about a month in advance if traveling during peak season from mid December through April.
- If you plan to visit Stingray City, book private boat excursions one to two months in advance.
- Using a VIP airport meet and greet service makes arrival and departure much easier, especially during busy travel periods.
- Finally, allow the resort to arrange your airport transfers for the most seamless experience.
Who I Recommend This For
The Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman works beautifully for a variety of travelers. Families appreciate the activities and kid friendly amenities, while couples enjoy the romantic setting and beach atmosphere. It is also a great choice for girls trips, celebrations, and milestone events.
The property manages to balance family friendly energy with refined luxury in a way that feels natural rather than forced.
Final Thoughts
The Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman lives up to the reputation that so many travelers talk about. The beach is stunning, the amenities are extensive, and the setting on Seven Mile Beach is hard to beat.
What truly sets this property apart, however, is the people. When service feels genuine and personal rather than scripted, it transforms a beautiful resort into a memorable experience.
This is easily one of my favorite Ritz-Carlton properties, and I completely understand why so many guests return year after year.
