Nestled along Florida’s Atlantic coast, The Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island showcases a sanctuary of luxury, relaxation, and unparalleled service. Having visited this resort six times in the past three years, I can confidently say it never fails to impress. From its serene oceanfront setting to its top-tier amenities, this destination is perfect for couples, family vacations, and group getaways.

Here is my review of The Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island:
Getting There
For those traveling by private plane, Fernandina Beach Airport (FHB) is the closest option, while Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) is about a 30-minute drive away. The scenic route to the resort winds through beautiful residential neighborhoods and roads lined with moss-covered trees, setting the tone for the tranquility that awaits.
Arrival & First Impressions
We arrived around 1:00 PM on Valentine’s weekend, just as the resort was gearing up for a busy holiday. Driving into The Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island, we were immediately struck by the meticulously maintained landscaping and grand entrance. The valet team was professional, welcoming, and efficient. Walking through the glass doors, we were greeted with sweeping views of the grounds and ocean beyond, setting the stage for an unforgettable stay.

Accommodations
Our Club Ocean View Room was ready early—a delightful surprise! The room itself is a standard size, but the two sitting areas and private balcony with ocean views make it feel exceptionally spacious. The guest relations team had decorated the room for Valentine’s Day per our request, and our luggage had already been delivered—a testament to their attention to detail and commitment to exceptional service.

Room Tour
Staying on Club Level is always a highlight. What makes The Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island unique is that they have club location on the beach, so you don’t have to go back upstairs to enjoy its offerings. This is the only Ritz that does this! From beer and wine to gourmet sandwiches, it’s the perfect place to relax and refuel between activities.

Dining Experiences
One of the most exciting updates was our visit to the newly reopened Salt Restaurant. Known for its fine dining experience, this spot is a must for food lovers. We requested a booth and were seated in their beautiful banquette area, which we loved. Each course was a masterpiece, making for a truly unforgettable meal.
For a more casual yet lively experience, the Lobby Bar offers nightly entertainment, an extensive drink menu, and even sushi service until 10 PM. The indoor and outdoor seating areas create the perfect setting for socializing around the fire pits while enjoying live music.
Another fantastic dining option is Lagniappe Amelia, where Southern hospitality meets elevated cuisine. This local gem offers a blend of Cajun and Creole flavors, making it a must-visit for those seeking a unique and flavorful dining experience.

Resort Amenities & Activities
The Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island wouldn’t be complete without mentioning the extensive amenities available:
- Spa & Wellness: The newly updated spa is stunning, featuring an outdoor adult-only pool with full food and beverage service. Our couples massage was nothing short of incredible.
- Fitness Center: The renovated gym provides fantastic views of the pool, making workouts more enjoyable.
- Golf & Tennis: The Amelia Island Golf Resort boasts an 18-hole championship golf course, and come May 2025, an exclusive tennis center will open. They have four oceanfront clay tennis courts and four clay pickleball courts.

Nature & Local Adventures
One of my favorite aspects of The Ritz-Carlton Amelia Island is its connection to nature. You’ll often see turtles crossing the walkways, birds along the shoreline, and bikers riding down the beach.
